Justin Mohan Raj, son of Mr. S. Paulian and Mrs Maria Thankam, born on 10th June 1965, at Kumarapuram, Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu. South India. He was affected by Poliomyelitis at the age of five. After one full year medication, it left him with a Post Polio Paralysis of both the lower limbs. He was blessed with inborn talent of art, and he nurtured it by drawing on the walls of his house and sands on the ground with his nail and fingers.
After completing lower primary schooling at hometown, he found difficult to travel long distance for his higher studies. Since he was very bright in studies, the Carmelite missionaries of Manjumal Provence offered him a boarding till he completes his graduation in commerce in 1985. During this period he got lots of opportunities to exhibit his talents, not only in art but also in other fields. While studying for graduation, he was attending a private class in art and earned a Diploma in Model drawing and free hand designing. At the same time he got an opportunity to work as a freelance cover designer for a private circulated revolutionary monthly newspaper 'VIDIUMVARAI' for 18 months.
In 8th September 1985, the same Missionaries brought him to Shalini Bhavan Spiritual Life Centre, Sion Mumbai. There he worked as an accountant cum Receptionist till 1993. While working he completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration(PGDBA). In November 29th 1993 he got married with Nancy a Professional Staff Nurse.
In 1994, the proprietorship firm “JUSTNA ART INTERNATIONAL” was formed, he was a full time artist in different field of art. His paintings are first exhibited with few other artists’ work at Juhu, Mumbai in 1994. Since then he has completed more than 35,000 pieces of commercial glass paintings, designed and installed stained glass, fiberglass and acrylic art windows for more than 123 churches all over India. He is also doing murals, Relief works, statues, canvas paintings, Church interior designing, grottos and Restoration works.
He is a state award holder in Pearl City Jaycees Youth Club in 1984, in Lead Pencil Drawing. He was also a participant among 27 artists from various countries in “MISSIO ART PRIZE 1996”s Asia and Oceania. The paintings he made for “ART INDIA PUNE” to print Indian style Christmas Greeting cards were sold with high demand in Germany. The DNA daily newspaper Navi Mumbai edition reported about one of his church interior and glass paintings in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai on 11th January 2007. In July 29th 2011 the DNA daily again reported about his works in the field of art. In October 16th, 2011, The Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside, awarded him, the’ VOCATIONAL EXCELLANCE AWARD” for the year 2011-12, in the chosen field of INTERIOR ART.
